I Love Some Spring

Winter makes me hate the outdoors and that if I am outside for 10 minutes, I lose feeling in my toes.  But once Spring hits, those worries are gone.  I can stand outside sans coat.  Well, expect for the first day of Spring this year.  Kansas City did have a freak snowstorm and we got about a foot of show.  It happens...I guess.  Another reason I like Spring more than Summer is because I can go outside and not unwillingly donate my blood to mosquitoes.  I loathe those annoying little things.

And another reason I love some Spring...I get to fire my grill back up.  You'd think I was a carnivore after my dinner tonight.  Dinner consisted of steak, chicken, and hamburger.  Well, I did consume a small amount of fruits and vegetables (pineapple and grilled onions).  Holleigh loves it when I grill because I smell like hickory smoke.  Here's to many more grillin' days...let's hope it doesn't rain too much!

Noel | 4 months

Today was the first time I saw Noël since she was 2 days old. Now she is 4 months old, and still flippin' adorable. Since she was born in December, this is her first time to experience the warmish weather.

I love seeing Noel's tiny hands wrap around her daddy's long fingers.

Garrick spending some time with his little sister.

If her current length is any indication of her future height, Noel will be tall like her father, Alex. She won't remember being this small, but she'll have the proof that once she was "knee-high to a grasshopper" and ....

.... she'll see how much she was loved from the very beginning.

I can't wait to shoot Noel again when we can go outside and enjoy the elements.

Beardless

One of my photographer friends, Chris Mullins, grew his beard out for 6 months. 3 days ago, he had one of the most awesomest beards I have seen in person.  Today, he looks 12 years old ;)

While we were in Las Vegas for the WPPI convention, the KC Photogs were talking about shaving it off in the middle of the desert. Things get crazy in Vegas and the plan never happened.  3 days ago he decided to put the plan back into motion, sans desert.

We met at fellow photographer Jason Domingues' house to do the deed.  Below is a video comprised of 1,006 frames (3 minutes) of said deed.

Rosemary + Keith | Engagement

After my trip to Las Vegas, Holly, my wife, and I flew over to Los Angeles to see family. I was also there to do Rosemary + Keith's engagement session for their wedding on 10/10/10. We took some photos in Burbank and around the Santa Monica Pier. Holly and I had a blast with them. The worse thing is I won't be able to hang out with them until I go back to LA for their wedding in October :( Enough of being down...here are some crazy faces:

The Jordan Family | 2010

While I was in Las Vegas for the WPPI convention, I had the opportunity to shoot some friends who recently moved out there from KC.  I first shot Dorian + Akilah a little over a year ago but this time I got to shoot the whole family.

I had a great time on the shoot and look forward to seeing them next year ;)

WPPI 2010

Last week in Las Vegas was a kick-start to the wedding season.  I attended the Wedding & Portrait Photographer Industry (WPPI) conference at the MGM Grand.  It was 5 days of photogasm.  This is the time that photographers come together and learn new things from each other, hang out & chit chat, and get inspired/pumped to the start of the new wedding season.

I will post a stop motion of the craziness soon ;)

At It Again...

I recently wrote a post about my niece giving her cat's whiskers a trim because they would tickle her face...well, my niece is at it again.  This time, she gave her eyebrows a trim....the innocence of children ;)
