Laura + Andrew | Wedding
I know it has been hard on Laura + Andrew as they have been living apart while Andrew was completing an internship in Illinois. That separation can only make their wedding day better...and it did. I was completely blindsided by the love of all their family and friends. Then I was railroaded by how fun of a time everyone was having at the reception.
I love it when a groom has to fight back the tears of joy ;)
Andrew was all about the thumbs up...channeling his inner Fonzie all day...Aaay! ;)
The Crowne Plaza has grand views of Kansas City...if you can divert your eyes past the gorgeous newlyweds ;)
There was a little bit of dancing throughout the night...
Who am I kidding? There was a LOT of dancing. They were going crazy; it was awesome. I would walk behind the DJ booth throughout the night...by the end of the night his booth was pushed as far back as it could go to make room for more dancing...it was THAT crazy of a party ;)
There was even some impromptu swing dancing.
I was really hoping Grandma Margaret would have caught the bouquet...
But thankfully it went over her head...she might have gotten hurt with all those crazy kids jumping for the bouquet ;)
That's right Andrew...stretch it out. Don't want to pull a muscle ;)
They REALLY want that garter ;)
Lots of money was made during the dollar dance...
So Andrew made it rain on Laura.
By the time Laura + Andrew read this, they will be in Jamaica...and I will not :(
I'm sad that I am not on a beach, but I am so happy I was able to witness their wonderful day and experience their night of celebration!

Tracey + Mark | Wedding
Tracey + Mark's wedding day was super eventful and lots of fun. The ceremony and reception was at Loose Mansion and the place looked beautiful. But Tracey stole the show, she was so beautiful in her dress and she had a glow the whole night. I did bride & groom photos of Tracey + Mark about a month ago, but today she had such a joy in her spirit.
Tracey was definitely stylin' and profilin' on her special day. She wore the below pair of Manolo Blahnik's for the ceremony, a custom pair of high heels she designed for the reception, and another pair of Manolo's for the after-party at Reverse in the Plaza.
They were all smiles during their first look at each other.
THEY'RE MARRIED!!!
They got the Marching Cobra's to perform after the ceremony. They put on such a good show.
Doesn't Tracey look so happy during the first dance?
Mark got his under-graduate degree at Kansas State and he got their mascot Willie the Wildcat to stop by.
They ALSO had someone rolling cigars on the outside patio...like I said, super eventful ;)
For a band, they had The Scamps, a Kansas City jazz band who've been playing since 1946! Tracey + Mark tried out...not sure if they will make the cut though ;)
This is Mark's sister Melinda and her husband. I didn't notice at first but Melinda was wearing his shoes and he wore her heels. He complained about his feet hurting so she joked about switching shoes...he wasn't scared though ;)
Tracey + Mark seem so right for each other and I am so glad I got to spend the day with them, their family and their friends. I hope they have a safe trip to Europe and get back to the states with lots of new adventures!

Theresa + Logan | Engagement
If there is a long break in between a client choosing me to shoot their wedding and the engagement session, it's hard for me to picture their faces in my head. So whenever I meet someone for their shoot, I am worried about not seeing them and walking past them.
I met Theresa + Logan for a drink to talk before shooting. Luckily, I only had to walk around the restaurant once to find Theresa + Logan ;)
After an engagement session, I have the faces of my couples locked into my mental photo album. More importantly, I get a better feel for the couple's personality and get to know them better. Theresa + Logan are quite a couple and I know we will have fun on their wedding day!
