I was told Vanessa couldn't wait to get into her dress on the day of because she LOVES the dress so much. After seeing it, I know why. The detail on it is amazing and Vanessa was a knock out in it.
And Anthony was no less dapper in his white tux.
I don't think Vanessa had any idea that Anthony was going to sing to her during the ceremony.
He plays the piano well and sings beautifully. It was a touching surprise.
Vanessa + Anthony made a gorgeous couple on their day. I know they had a blast in Orlando for their honeymoon. CONGRATS!
If there is a long break in between a client choosing me to shoot their wedding and the engagement session, it's hard for me to picture their faces in my head. So whenever I meet someone for their shoot, I am worried about not seeing them and walking past them.
I met Theresa + Logan for a drink to talk before shooting. Luckily, I only had to walk around the restaurant once to find Theresa + Logan ;)
After an engagement session, I have the faces of my couples locked into my mental photo album. More importantly, I get a better feel for the couple's personality and get to know them better. Theresa + Logan are quite a couple and I know we will have fun on their wedding day!
I walked in the parade with the wonderful local store, Stuff. Their theme this year was "Are You a Lucky Duck?". They tossed out small ducks with numbers on the bottom and you can take the ducks into the store to see if you are a winner. Check out video and photos below. The rest of the photos can be found here.
Stuff has by far, the best window designs in Brookside. This week it had the words LUCKY and a pile of dice, ducks, and horseshoes underneath it to match their parade theme.
The stuff chear team had a plethora of energetic kids helping out.
A woman on the sidelines of the parade had a Stuff shirt from years past. I'm jealous because I don't have one :(
I had to work at a quick pace with Laura + Andrew because Andrew is currently working in Illinois while Laura works here in Missouri; so they wanted to catch up since they do not see other that often and who really wants to be bothered with the likes of a pesky photographer ;) Little did they know that PBP engagement shoots are like mini dates. Well, minus the food and plus a third-wheel. This was the first time I met Andrew so we talked over drinks before heading out to the Kaufman Memorial Garden.
After looking at this picture I know Laura + Andrew will look absolutely stunning on their wedding day.
We (okay, maybe just me ;) were amazed by the gourds growing from the arbor.
We stopped behind the Toy and Miniature Museum in the Brookside area to take some shots. This is right before I asked Laura to not smile and look like she was thinking. I said, "just do some calculus in your head". She just laughed and laughed. I guess I sort of failed but I did get some good photos of her laughing ;)
Our last stop before I sent the merry couple on their way to catch up with each other was at Loose Park.
Not seen in this shot is the massive swarm of geese that are slowly making their way towards the couple.
I had to run back towards Laura + Andrew and back the geese off. I couldn't have Andrew's future bride getting attacked on my watch.
As Laura + Andrew start to square away the rest of the wedding day details, time will start to fly. We look forward to being able to document their special day.
