Shotguns and Mustaches
I have wanted to post these photos for SOOOOO long. I told the boys that I would wait until they ordered the prints and hung them in the loft before releasing them to the public. 20 or so prints and a big ol' canvas have all been framed and hung, so I can now post this epic portrait session.
I give you, SHOTGUNS AND MUSTACHES ;)
And a quick story about how I was first contacted to shoot this. I received an email that said they wanted portraits of 3 guys in the West Bottoms and they wanted a black & white wall print 50 inches across. I asked if they were in a band...no they weren't. I asked if they had an idea for the photos...mustaches, black turtlenecks, and coffee mugs. At this point, I thought I was going to get jumped in the West Bottoms and taken for all my camera gear. Turns out, I knew one of the guys and it all made sense [this very much so fit his personality]. They just wanted some crazy portraits for their new loft. At the last minute they changed from the original idea to Shotguns and Mustaches...a good choice in my opinion ;)

Cortny + Ross | Engagement
I met Cortny + Ross at their house to do a quick engagement session that included their dog, Bentley. What a whipper snapper he was ;)
We stepped outside to give Bentley a quick walk. When Cortny + Ross stopped in the street, Bentley circled around them and tied them up...he's got moves ;)
We left from Olathe and headed to Overland Park, Kansas to take some photos outside of Ra Sushi and a couple quick snaps inside the Aloft Hotel.
While I would want to quickly forget the cold weather during our shoot, I can't wait for the wedding. Cortny + Ross have a great time making each other laugh and it makes my job a little bit easier (and more fun).

Theresa + Logan | Engagement
If there is a long break in between a client choosing me to shoot their wedding and the engagement session, it's hard for me to picture their faces in my head. So whenever I meet someone for their shoot, I am worried about not seeing them and walking past them.
I met Theresa + Logan for a drink to talk before shooting. Luckily, I only had to walk around the restaurant once to find Theresa + Logan ;)

After an engagement session, I have the faces of my couples locked into my mental photo album. More importantly, I get a better feel for the couple's personality and get to know them better. Theresa + Logan are quite a couple and I know we will have fun on their wedding day!
